Super Moron Idiot
A Nispy-inspired mario-esque game for Windows that was never finished. Nispy was my old high school band. The game has elevator-ified Nispy music and all sorts of goofery. It's a silly platform game but can be fun. It includes 4 expansive levels, power-ups, secrets and a boss fight.
This game is completely free, and contains no ads, spyware or anything else of the sort. It is however unfinished and very old, so if it crashes or anything I feel for you. It should work on XP with little problem but I have no way of testing it on Vista or Windows 7. Requires Directx 7 or better. Play at your own risk!
This game holds a special place in my unfinished game collection. It's very playable, extremely goofy and was the first major project I started when I picked up game making as a hobby after a long hiatus. You see, before Blitz Basic, I wasn't able to make PC games. I had no idea how, and there was very little information on how to go about it. My previous game making experience was using AMOS on the Amiga, but once Commodore went out of business there wasn't much point in continuing.
What kills me about this project is that since it was the first thing I did and I worked on it on and off for many years the code is terrible. Like really really really bad. Every now and then I get an email asking for the source code but I'm too ashamed to give it out. I've attempted to add more to the game but it's really unmanageable at this point. So I guess it is what it is. Maybe one day I can recode the whole thing from scratch in XNA or something. For now, it's a free 4 level game I started building around 10 years ago that you might get a kick out of.
